Rule Design Properties
In EDC Studio, you can use the Properties panel to manage your object definitions. The fields available in the Properties panel depend on which type of object or definition you’re editing.

Using the Properties Panel
To view the Properties panel, click on the row of the object record you want to edit. Note that for Rules, clicking the name of the object opens the Edit Study Rule dialog. Click anywhere else in the row to open the Properties panel for a Rule.
- Click to open the Properties panel of the object record you want to edit.
- Click Edit.
- Make your changes to the editable properties.
- Click Save.
The Actions, General, Rules, and Rule Scope sections are collapsible. To expand or collapse a section, click the Arrow button.
The following table lists all available properties in the Properties panel. The Editable column indicates whether or not you can edit a property value.
|Name||The Name of the rule.||Yes||All Rules|
|Description||The Description displays in the Rules tab in Studio, as well as in EDC Tools > Query Rules. This is for reference only.||Yes||All Rules|

|Within Current Event Group||Select this checkbox on an Add Event, Add Form, or Add Item type rule to add the Event, Form, or Item only within the current Event Group.||Yes||Add Event & Add Form Rules|
|Dynamic Scope||Select whether to add the dynamic Event or Form to only the current Event, the current Event Group, or across all identifiers.||Yes||Add Event & Add Form Rules|
